Este grupo de techno pop originario de Liverpool tuvo un éxito mayúsculo durante mediados de los años 80, coincidiendo plenamente con mi época adolescente. Sus canciones en directo eran una mezcla de cocktail orgístico-festivo donde destacaban la ambiguedad sexual del cantante Holly Johnson y el auténtico showman del grupo, Paul Rutherford, que igual que se encargaba de los teclados, se enroscaba una serpiente en plan lascivo. También destacaría de su corta carrera musical, las versiones de dos de las mejores canciones de Bruce Springteen, Born to run y War. Finalmente, las peleas internas acabaron por disolver la banda, con Johnson siempre en el ojo del huracán, lástima, porque los únicos dos discos que editaron lanzaron canciones impresionantes como "Welcome to the pleasure dome", "Two tribes", "Rage hard", "Watching the wildlife", "Relax" y la inolvidable "The power of Love".
